White Seamless

Today it arrived: My roll of white seamless paper and the respective holder! I just got clamps, white tile boards und some tape from the hardware store (it was a pain in the butt btw, to carry the huge tiles 2,4km and they weren't really cheap either :-/) and we were ready to go!

My fellow strobist Nils and me shot first each other and a friend with his girl friend joined us too lateron. It's really awesome, how nice and consistent pictures are taken easily, once the whole stuff is set up!

And yeah as you see, we're some serious strobist gangstas. ;)

But one thing really caught our eyes: The quality gap between the 17-55 and the 18-200 is huge.

The 17-55 just produces much sharper pictures and is also much brighter: Two  thirds of a stop! I'm really starting to long for the 85mm/1.4. :) (I  forgot my 50mm at home, that's why I shot my travel zoom.)

Compare these two crops of headshots, both shot by me:

See how muddy the left one is?

Anyway, I guess I can start looking for customers. ;)
